Taking full resolution images give you more flexibility to edit the file including basic cropping to delete unwanted parts. Also, you will not lose considerable amount of details when you zoom it. If your camera allows you to take RAW format and not just the final product, simply use it. There are many things you can fix in RAW format, but not in JPG.

It does sound a bit strange, but flash can be really helpful even during bright daylight. As a matter of fact, flash can help you to deal with unexpected source of natural sunlight when the day is very bright. In case rays of sunlight come from unexpected direction, the flash will be able to handle it well.

One of the biggest problems with photography is shaky hands, and this is where tripod comes in. Tripod can be inexpensive, making it worth purchasing for all reasons. There are also cameras that accommodate shaky hands to stabilize everything, but it is best if the camera does not shake at all. You certainly want a camera which leaves almost no time-gap between pressing shutter button and capturing image, yet this feature can be useless if you have shaky hands. The best you can do is put the camera on top of a tripod and use shutter timer so you can clear your hands from the camera before it actually takes the shot.

Using zoom feature allows you to see as if the object is closer, and this is good. However, it is better if you move closer toward the object if possible. Zooming sacrifices details, regardless of how immeasurable it is.
